A square has a perimeter equal to the circumference of a circle having a radius 7 cm. What is the ratio of the area of the circle to area of the square? (Use π = 227\frac{22}{7})

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 14 : 11

The perimeter of the square = circumference of the circle.

4 × side = 2 × 22/7 × 7

Side of the square = 11.

The ratio of the area of the circle: Ratio of the area of the square.

= 22/7 × 7 × 7 : 11 × 11

= 14 : 11.
