Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 14.54%.

A shopkeeper professes to sell sugar costing 40 Rs/kg at 42 Rs/kg

He gives only 550 grams of sugar in place of 600 grams.

So,

Cost price : Selling price

 40 :  42

550 : 600

Cost price : Selling price = 55 : 63

Profit % = (Selling price - Cost price)/Cost price × 100

Profit % = (63 - 55)/55 × 100 = 14.54%
