Let the cost price be x 

When a discount of 50% is given, S.P = $\frac{50}{100}x$

When 2 successive discounts of 30% are given, net discount = - 30 - 30 + $\frac{900}{100}$ = - 51%

Hence, S.P when 2 successive discounts are given = $\frac{49}{100}x$

According to the question

The difference in the bill = Rs. 43

⇒ $\frac{50}{100}x$ - $\frac{49}{100}x$ = 43

⇒ x = Rs. 4,300
