SSC Selection Post - Matriculation Level - 30th July 2025 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q29

A rope is 15(3/4) meters long. It is cut into pieces each of 1.25 meters. How many full pieces can be cut, and how much rope will remain?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

Length of the rope = 15(3/4) = 15.75 meters

Length of one piece = 1.25 meters

Number of whole pieces = 15.75 ÷ 1.25 = 12.6

Therefore, whole pieces = 12

Rope used for 12 pieces = 12 × 1.25 = 15 meters

Remaining rope = 15.75 - 15 = 0.75 meters
