SSC GD Constable (English) - 23rd November 2021 Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q56

A rectangular park is 110 m long and 70 m wide. Two cross paths, each 6 m wide, are constructed parallel to the sides. If the cost of construction of these paths is ₹ 175 m2, then what is the total cost (in ₹) of construction of these paths?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 182700

Area of rectangle  = Length × Breadth

From the figure

Total area of two crossed paths = Area of PQRS + Area of WXYZ - Area of the shaded region

= 110 × 6 + 70 × 6 - 6 × 6

= 660 + 420 - 36

= 1044 m2

Cost of constructing 1 m2 = Rs. 175

Cost of constructing 1044 m2 = 1044 × 175

= Rs. 182,700
