Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The Correct answer is option 2 i.e. Rs. 18,375

Given that

A rectangular ground 90 m long and 42 m wide has two crossroads in its centre

The road parallel to the length is 7 m wide and the road parallel to the width is 3 m

According to the question

The area of the road, which is 90 m long and 7 m wide = 90 × 7 = 630 m2

The area of the road, which is 42 m long and 3 m wide = 42 × 3 = 126 m2

The area of the road, which is 7 m long and 3 m wide, counts twice during crossing = 7 × 3 = 21 m2

The area of the crossroads = 630 + 126 - 21 = 735 m2

The cost of laying the bricks at the rate of Rs.25 per m2

Hence, the cost of laying bricks on roads = 25 × 735 = Rs. 18375
