SSC CHSL 2024 PYQ — Question 64

SSC CHSL - 10 July 2024 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q64

A patient in a hospital is given tea daily in a cylindrical cup of diameter 7 cm. If the cup is filled with tea to a height of 4 cm, how much tea the hospital has to prepare daily to serve 180 patients? (Use π=227\pi=\frac{22}{7})

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 27.72 litres.

We know,

1 litre = 1000 cm3

Volume of cylinder = πr2h

Where, r = radius and h = height

According to the question;

Volume of the tea cup = (22/7) × (7/2)2 × 4

⇒ 154 cm3

The volume of tea served to 180 patients = (154 × 180) = 27720 cm3

⇒ 27720/1000 = 27.72 litres
