A number 'n' when divided by 6 leaves remainder 2. What will be the remainder when (n2 + n + 2) is divided by 6?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 2

Calculations:

Let the number be 8 so when it is divided by 6 leaves remainder 2

Now we have n = 8

So, (n2 + n + 2) = (64 + 8 + 2) = 74

⇒ When 74 is divided by 6 it gives 2 as a remainder.
