SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 62

SSC CGL - 24 July 2023 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q62

A notebook was sold for Rs.28 with a profit of 12%. If it had been sold for Rs.26.25, then what would have been the profit percentage?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 5%.

SP = Rs. 28

Profit percentage = 12%

CP = (100/112) × 28 = 25

New SP = 26.25

Profit = 26.25 - 25 = 1.25

Profit percentage = (1.25/25) × 100 = 5%

Therefore, if the notebook had been sold for Rs. 26.25, the profit percentage would have been 5%.
