Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. increase; 6.67.

Medicine has 60% S and 40% T.

Old cost:

S = 0.6 × 30 = 18

T = 0.4 × 30 = 12

Total = 30

New cost:

S = 0.6 × 40 = 24

T = 0.4 × 20 = 8

Total = 32

Increase = 32 – 30 = 2

Percentage increase = (2 ÷ 30) × 100 = 6.67%
