A marble is spherical in shape with a radius of 4 cm. If the marble is placed inside a cube with side length 10 cm, what is the volume of the cube that is not occupied by the marble?

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. 732.06 cm3.

Radius of sphere (r) = 4 cm  

Volume of sphere =43πr3=43×3.14×43= \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3 = \frac{4}{3} \times 3.14 \times 4^3  ≈ 267.94 cm3

Volume of cube = 103 = 1000 cm3  

Unoccupied volume = 1000 - 267.94 = 732.06 cm3
