Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. Rs. 4,20,000.

Let the monthly income be 100x.

After spending 30% on rent and 15% of the remaining amount on food.

35% of the amount now left was used for all other expenses.

According to the question,

⇒ 100x × (70/100) × (85/100) × (65/100) = 162435

⇒ x = 4200

Hence, monthly income = 100x = 100 × 4200 = Rs 420000
