SSC Selection Post 2025 PYQ — Question 81

SSC Selection Post - Graduation Level - 29th July 2025 - Shift 3 • Reasoning • Q81

A man is 24 years older than his son. In two years, his age will be twice the age of his son. What is the present age of the son?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

Let the son's present age = x years.

Then the man's (father's) present age = x + 24 years.

After 2 years:

Son's age = x + 2

Father's age = x + 26

As per the question,

x + 26 = 2(x + 2)

x + 26 = 2x + 4

x = 22

Therefore, the son's present age is 22 years.
