Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e Loss, 10.4%

Let's assume the total number of bananas = 100

One fifth of bananas got rotten and were thrown away.

So, the remaining Bananas = 100 - 100 × (1/5) = 80

He sold two fifth of the bananas with him at 15% profit and the remaining bananas at 10% profit.

So, the selling price of the two fifth of the bananas = 80 × (2/5) × (100+15)/100 = Rs 36.8

Remaining Bananas = 1 - (2/5) = 3/5

the selling price of the remaining (three fifth) of the bananas =  80 × (3/5) × (100+10)/100 = 52.8

Total Sp = 36.8 + 52.8 = 89.6

Loss percentage = 100−89.6100×100=10.4\dfrac{100-89.6}{100}\times100=10.4%
