Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. Rs.3,382.

Given:

C.P. = Rs.2,500

Gain = 15%

Discount = 15%

Formula Used:

S.P.=C.P.×(100+P)100S.P. = C.P. \times {(100 + P) \over 100}

S.P.=M.P.×(100−D)100S.P. = M.P. \times {(100 - D) \over 100}

Explanation:

Let the marked price be Rs. x

Now, S.P.=2500×(100+15)100S.P. = 2500 \times {(100 + 15) \over 100}

⇒ S.P. = 25 × 115

⇒ S.P. = 2,875

So, Using the formula for M.P., S.P.=M.P.×(100−D)100S.P. = M.P. \times {(100 - D) \over 100}, we get

⇒ 2,875=x×(100−15)1002,875 = x \times {(100 - 15) \over 100}

⇒ x=2,875×10085x = {{2,875 \times 100} \over 85}

⇒ x = 3382.35

Hence the required value of marked price is Rs. 3382.
