A can do a work in 4 days and B in 12 days

Total work (LCM of 4 and 12) = 12 units

Efficiency of A = $12 \over 4$ = 3 

Efficiency of B = $12 \over 12$ = 1

Total Efficiency = 4

They worked together for 2 days = 4 × 2 = 8

Work left = 12 - 8 = 4

Required fraction of work left = $4 \over 12$ = $1 \over 3$
