A can complete a work in 66 days and B can do the same work in two-thirds of the time taken by A. Working together, how much of the same work can they complete in 12 days?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 511{{5} \over 11} .

Time taken by B = 44 days

Let the total work to be done (LCM of 66 and 44) be 132 units.

Efficiency of A = 132/66 = 2 units/day

Efficiency of B = 132/44 = 3 units/day

Work done by A and B together in 12 days = 12 × 5 = 60 units 

Required answer = 60/132 = 511{{5} \over 11}
