Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. Gain 12%.

Explanation:

According to the given question,

Selling price, when 30% loss = 4800×100−301004800 \times {100 - 30 \over 100}

⇒ Selling price = 4800×701004800 \times {70 \over 100} = 3360

Now, the new cost price = Rs. 3360

Selling price, when 60% gain = 3360×100+601003360 \times {100 + 60 \over 100}

⇒ Selling price = 3360×1601003360 \times {160 \over 100} = 5376

Now, overall gain = 5376 - 4800 = 576

Gain% = 5764800×100{576 \over 4800 } \times 100 = 12%

Hence the required answer is 12%.
