A × B means ‘A is the brother of B’;

A ÷ B means ‘A is the sister of B’;

Which of the following expressions means ‘H is the paternal grandson of P’?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e P + K +  D ÷ H × M.

 Understanding   Application

In the diagram shown;

Square shows males, the circle shows females, vertical lines show generations, single horizontal line shows brother or sisters and double lines show a couple.

Lets check each option one by one.

Taking Option 1:

D + H + K × M ÷ P

From this it is clear that H is in 2nd generation, so this is not correct answer.

Taking Option 2:

H + K + D × P ÷ M

From this it is clear that H is in 1st generation, so this is not correct answer.

Taking Option 3:

P + K + D  ×  H ÷ M

From this it is clear that H is grand daughter of P, so this is not the correct answer.

Taking Option 4:

P + K +  D ÷ H × M

From this it is clear that H is grandson of P.

Hence the correct answer which shows relationship of H as grand son of P is P + K +  D ÷ H × M.
