A, B, C share a profit of ₹4800 in the ratio 3:4:5. If C's share is reduced by ₹400, and the remainder is equally divided between A and B, what will be A's final share?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

Total profit = ₹4800

Profit ratio = 3 : 4 : 5

Total ratio = 3 + 4 + 5 = 12

Value per part = 4800 ÷ 12 = ₹400

Initial shares -

A = 3 × 400 = ₹1200

B = 4 × 400 = ₹1600

C = 5 × 400 = ₹2000

C's new share = ₹2000 − ₹400 = ₹1600

Therefore, additional amount for A = ₹400 ÷ 2 = ₹200

A's final share = ₹1200 + ₹200 = ₹1400
