A, B, and C started a business with capitals in the ratio 3:4:5. After 6 months, C withdrew 40% of his capital. After another 6 months, B withdrew half of his capital. The business continued for a total of 24 months. If the total profit is ₹240,000, find the ratio of profit shares of A : B : C.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 6:6:7.

Let initial capitals: A = 3x, B = 4x, C = 5x

A's investment = 3x × 24 = 72x

B's investment = (4x × 12) + (2x × 12) = 48x + 24x = 72x

C's investment = (5x × 6) + (3x × 18) = 30x + 54x = 84x

A : B : C = 72x : 72x : 84x = 6 : 6 : 7
