A and B entered into a partnership with certain investments. At the end of 8 months A withdraw and collected back his money. A and B received profit in the ratio 5 : 9 at the end of the year. If B had invested Rs 36,000, then how much (in Rs) had A invested?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 30,000

Explanation:

Let the amount invested by A be x

Ratio of profit = Ratio of (Amount × Time)

⇒ (x×8)(36000×12)=59{(x × 8) \over (36000 × 12)} = {5 \over 9}

⇒ 8x = 5 × 4000 × 12

⇒ x = 30,000

Hence the amount invested by A is Rs 30,000
