₹6045 is divided among A, B, and C in such a way that if ₹10 is taken away from A's share, ₹15 is taken away from B's share, and ₹20 is taken away from C's share, then their ratio will be 5 : 4 : 3. B's original share (in ₹) is known.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. ₹2015.

The total reduction = 10 + 15 + 20 = 45

The total amount after reductions = 6045 - 45 = ₹6000

Let the reduced shares be 5x, 4x, 3x

So,

⇒ 12x = 6000

⇒ x = 500

B's reduced share = 4x = ₹2000

B's original share = 2000 + 15 = ₹2015
