115\frac{11}{ 5} of a number A is 22% of a number B. The number B is equal to 2.5% of a third number C. If the value of C is 5500, then the sum of 80% of A and 40% of B is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 66

Given,

 115\frac{11}{ 5}  A=  22100\frac{22}{ 100} B

A =   220\frac{2}{20}  B

 AB\frac{A}{B}  =  110\frac{1}{ 10}  = A:B = 1:10

again,

B = 2.5% of c

B =  2.5100\frac{2.5}{ 100} c

  BC\frac{B}{ C}  = 140\frac{1}{ 40}  = B:C = 1:40

⇒ A:B:C = 1 : 10 : 400

Now, 400 unit = 5500

4 unit = 55

1 unit =    554\frac{55}{ 4}

then, 80% of A + 40% of B =    80100\frac{80}{ 100}  *    554\frac{55}{ 4}

                                            ⇒   40100\frac{40}{ 100}  *    5504\frac{550}{ 4}

                                           ⇒     11+55

                                          ⇒    66 Ans.
